We are seeking a Youth Engagement Officer for the Tame Valley Wetlands Landscape Partnership Scheme, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The job will involve overseeing the development and delivery of a youth programme to engage young people in a wide range of positive activities. The Youth Engagement Officer’s work will provide young people with a greater appreciation for the local heritage, the knowledge and skills to look after the land in a sustainable way, and develop firm foundations for young people’s future lives in the Tame Valley.
We are looking for someone with:-
• A current first aid certificate.
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
Preferably with:-
• A degree or experience in a conservation or environmental discipline.
• A JNC or local youth qualification.
Experience of:-
• Developing and delivering practical conservation and environmental projects involving young people.
• Proven track record in youth work settings such as centre-based work, detached or rural settings that are youth related.
• Experience of working with young people in outdoor settings.
• Project management including day to day responsibility for budgets.
Preference will be given to candidates who either live in the scheme area, or within a half an hour commute – or be willing to relocate to this area for the duration of the post (please state on application).

Salary: £21,900 pa pro rata (plus 10% pension).
Hours: 25 hours / week (part-time).
Contract: 2.5 years (fixed-term).
Location: Hams Hall Environmental Centre, Near Coleshill, North Warwickshire.
